Boveda for WinterizationWe see a definite trend twice per year that results in a humidor that needs to be re-seasoned - summer when you crank the A/C and winter when you fire up the furnace.
While extra dry air is more common in the winter, the reality is that both A/C and heat scrub the air of moisture, making a humidor work harder. And it can happen fast if you're not on top of it. Once the humidor has lost moisture, whatever you're using has a tough time re-hydrating the wood and protecting your cigars at the same time. This results in a perpetually low RH or the impulse to over-wet gel/crystal/beads - which creates the bigger problem of high humidity.
Our humidor tune-up kit is everything you need to get your humidor re-seasoned while also providing the predictable perfection of our Humidor Bag to perfectly maintain your cigars during the process.
*Do not mix different Boveda RH levels within the same container, and do not use Boveda in the same container with other humidification products. They will fight against each other and reduce the efficiency of the Boveda.
One might expect that if you use a high RH Boveda in the same container as a lower RH Boveda that you'll achieve an environment somewhere in the middle. That is not the case, instead the moisture just transfers back and forth between the Bovedas.
