Turns out that increasing moisture levels to standard can make dispensaries more money:

INTRODUCING: Boveda Humidity Control ROI Calculator
From July through August 2018, Boveda:
ALMOST ¾ OF THE OFF-THE-SHELF FLOWER TESTED AT HUMIDITY LEVELS THAT:
• WOULD NOT provide the best customer experience
• WOULD NOT optimize yield for dispensaries
Dispensaries that look at a customer sale as one and done will not survive the green rush. Selling overly dried flower affects repeat sales. If cannabis isn’t immediately packaged with proper humidity control, dehydration will affect flower’s potency and experience. Once cannabis consumers are let down, they’ll take their flower business elsewhere in this competitive environment—n’er to return. (Then share lackluster reviews about your shop far and wide on social media.)
In July 2018, ASTM International released new moisture safety standards for storing cannabis for testing. This got us wondering.
Could maintaining these new water activity level standards for flower actually result in higher profits for cannabis companies? (As well as ensure safe and quality for the cannabis consumers?)
According to ASTM INTERNATIONAL D8197: The standard range for maintaining acceptable water activity (aW) for dry cannabis flower is between 0.55 to 0.65. (This can be achieved by storing flower in an airtight container at a relative humidity (RH) level between 55 and 65%.)
ASTM members recommend using a salt-water sachet for maintaining acceptable water activity (aW) levels for dry cannabis flower. Boveda is the only salt-water sachet on the market.
Salt is the most effective way to maintain an optimal RH level for a long time. Boveda provides 2-way humidity control for 2 to 4 months in an airtight container. As needed, Boveda slowly adds and/or removes pure water vapor to keep cannabis at the optimal RH level. (Optimal to earn you the most money.)
A salt water-based humidity packet like Boveda is 100% non-toxic and safe for flower. In this robust green market, the price of flower will keep dropping. So why wouldn’t you keep your product fully hydrated, so it earns you the most money, pound per pound?
ALL ALONG THE SUPPLY CHAIN, maintain this requisite aW level from completion of drying through merchandising with Boveda. And Boveda eliminates the industry practice of overpacking to offset loss from evaporation. Why are you still giving away product? Pack your flower with Boveda instead.
Concentrates sales are on the rise. (No worries, more variety means more happy cannabis campers.) Yes, alternative cannabis delivery methods are gaining in popularity. And properly hydrated flower produces higher concentrate yields. More in, more out.
Better in, better out, too. When buds dry out, trichomes break off and with it go THC, CBD and other active medicinal cannabinoids. Storing buds you’ll use for concentrates with Boveda preserves trichomes to retain potency for cannabis concentrates.
