MAINTAINING CANNABIS QUALITY A MUST TO TEST CANNABIS HEALTH BENEFITS

Keeping cannabis well-hydrated isn’t just an issue for cannabis producers. Researchers need to test and research cannabis to prove the potency and efficacy of this healing plant.

Hard to gauge the medicinal effectiveness of cannabis when scientists are running experiments on sub-par, overdry flower.

Testing cannabis’s efficacy has been problematic since the federal prohibition of cannabis has curbed cannabis research and affected protocols for lab testing, including:

  • Using only one source—the University of Mississippi—to supply all the for cannabis samples for scientific and medical studies
  • Testing mostly older low-THC strains, which are a third to a half less than the average potency that’s purchased on the open market today
  • Not storing cannabis samples at a stable humidity level to protect flower’s chemical makeup

Now the U.S. government has approved an increase in amount of cannabis that can be produced for clinical research. And labs can adopt international standards for storing cannabis test samples.

COUPLING WITH PRO ATHLETES TO VALIDATE CBD

Instead of waiting for the government to prove that cannabidiol (CBD) works to relieve pain, one large scale cannabis company has organized its own studies.

Canada’s Aurora Cannabis is conducting clinical trials on the use of hemp-derived CBD topical treatments for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) athletes.

These elite athletes are the ultimate subjects to test the benefits of CBD for aches and pains. UFC is a mixed-martial arts competition that combines striking, grappling and fighting in a ring. OUCH!

BANKING YOUR CANNABIS CASH

Armored trucks. Body guards. Security protocols. Even in the legal markets in the U.S., producing cannabis has been a cash-only business. Now cannabis companies have an alternative to handling and transporting large amounts of money generated from their operations.

Because cannabis is still illegal on the federal level, publicly traded banks are hesitant to provide financial services to the legitimate cannabis businesses. So cultivators have turned to credit unions in state-legal markets for banking services. Credit unions have different regulations than traditional banks, whose deposits are regulated and insured by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation).

Now the Greek billionaire Alkiviades David is banking on the Swiss to create the first bank and cryptocurrency entirely for the legal cannabis industry. David launched The Swissx Bank of Cannabis to offer a secure financial alternative for cannabis companies.
